Last week saw the official opening event for Newmarket Cinema. Many of those who have supported this much-welcomed project attended a celebratory evening and an exclusive preview of ‘Freud’s Last Session’. Those attending included the Chair and Director of Newmarket Charitable Foundation, Sarah Howard and Josh Schunmann, plus Trustees, Rachel Flynn, James Crowhurst, Dave Hall, and Nick Patton. Supporting organisations including Newmarket Town Council and West Suffolk Council were also represented.
Newmarket Charitable Foundation have been instrumental in getting the new Cinema off the ground with the team working tirelessly alongside the teams from Kings Theatre and Newmarket Nomads, and Abbeygate Cinemas.
Director, Josh Schunmann said: “This event is a celebration of this project coming to fruition and testament to the joint efforts of all the organisations involved. Newmarket residents have been requesting a cinema for many years, so to welcome everyone involved in making this happen here today is very special. We now look forward to seeing more and more of the local community enjoying the wide range of films that Abbeygate Cinemas have to offer.”
