Going the extra mile for Newmarket Charitable Foundation!

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for the Newmarket Charitable Foundation’s third Summer Nights Walk.

Topping the previous event’s attendees by 30%, the walkers were given a gentle warm up session from Jazzercise before setting off at 7pm for a leisurely 10km walk around Newmarket’s many amazing landmark sights.  Whilst this was a new route for 2023, this did still include strolling past some of the most renowned racing yards in the town, a unique experience of walking through the world-famous sales ring of Tattersalls, before finishing the walk with the most beautiful sunset as the participants cascade down Side Hill Gallops before collecting their well-earned medal, on Severals.

Organising the event on behalf of the charity this year were Lindsay Devin of the Jockey Club Estates, Michelle Kerr of Jockey Club Racecourse as well as Noel Byrne, Julie Goss and Ali Price of Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa.

As one of the charity’s Trustees Noel Byrne said, “We are delighted that numbers have increased substantially since the last Walk’ with this community event raising nearly £4,000 for the local good causes and organisations that we support. This wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and support of so many local companies within Newmarket that have either sponsored or given up their valuable time and resources to make this event such a huge success. As well as the amazing support of volunteers on the day, and the volunteer committee who made this event happen. My heartfelt thanks go out to all of them”.

Special thanks go to sponsors and supporters of the event: Edmondson Hall Solicitors, Abbeycroft Leisure, DJ Media & Events, Phil’s Snacks, Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa, Cheveley Park Stud,  Jazzercise, Jockey Club Estates, Juddmonte Stud, Kaz Clarke Social Media,  Newmarket Town Council, Newprint Ltd, NP Nunn, Tattersalls, Tesco and Yutree Insurance, without whom, this event could never have happened.
