Newmarket Charitable Foundation was delighted to be able to award EPIC Dad a cheque to support their work. EPIC Dad works with families in a number of ways, offering a range of support. Lego Club being just one of these ways. Lego Club offers families a fun and imaginative way to encourage active communication and play between children and adults and allows all involved to detach from technology and enjoy time together, while enjoying some light refreshments. It is free to attend.
The Lego Club is delivered in partnership with Newmarket Library. The library was full of young people and their families who expressed how much they have enjoyed the Lego Club. Rachel Flynn, Trustee of Newmarket Charitable Foundation, (pictured) was pleased to be able to present the cheque and ensure the continuation of the brilliant work that this group does.
Richard Keeble, EPIC Dad CIC Founder and Project Leader said: “EPIC Dad and Newmarket Library would like to express our grateful thanks to the Newmarket Charitable Foundation who have kindly funded our Lego Club for next year. With the help of this funding we will be able to continue to run our monthly Lego Club at the library offering free Lego sets and refreshments for families after school. These sessions are regularly attended by about 100 people and bring together local dads, mums, carers, and children of all ages for fun Lego activities which encourage creativity, support family wellbeing and relationships, and strengthen community connections. I know the families will be overjoyed to know we have this ongoing support for the club that they enjoy so much and look forward to attending each month.”
LEGO Club is run at Newmarket Library on the last Tuesday of the month at 3:30 to 5pm. To find out more details, go to: www.epicdad.co.uk
