Successful Careers Expo returns for the second year.

students from Newmarket academy attend career expo organised by Newmarket Charitable Foundation

Last month saw the return of the successful Careers Expo to Newmarket Academy. Organised in partnership with Newmarket Charitable Foundation, the Academy saw over 20 local businesses and colleges attend to showcase their business and the many opportunities they have on offer for students starting to think about their future careers. Each year group across the Academy had the opportunity to view the stalls and engage with the different competitions, puzzles and activities on offer. Local primary school, All Saints Primary School also attended with Year 6 students.

Businesses attending offered excellent feedback ranging from: “It was great to speak to the students and see some of their curiosities about the role and about the wider organisation. Just wanted to pass on how polite we thought the students were. They were all excellent ambassadors for the school” to “It was a very positive day, and the students were truly engaged with the event. Please count us in for next year!”

Head teacher, Martin Witter said:  “This was the second year of our school working with the Newmarket Charitable Foundation to run this wonderful careers event.  Once again, it was a resounding success.  Thank you to Newmarket Charitable Foundation and to all the local businesses for giving up their valuable time to give such fantastic advice to our students.  We are really looking forward to next year’s event.”

Josh Schunmann, Director of the Newmarket Charitable Foundation, said: “This event is a vital part of the community projects we organise and support with the help of our partners. Launched last year, it plays a key role in our annual events calendar, giving students the chance to engage with local businesses throughout their school journey. As their interests evolve, they benefit from ongoing interactions with these businesses, gaining deeper insights into their culture and opportunities.”
