Newmarket Charitable Foundation recently presented a donation to Newmarket Cricket Club. Trustees Kevin Hancock and Noel Byrne were pleased to presented a generous donation of £2,000 on behalf of the Charity, to Cricket Club Captain, Nick Lomas.
Newmarket Cricket Club is one of the valued beneficiaries of the funds raised at last year’s Newmarket Charitable Foundation Sporting Dinner, which featured Sir Geoff Hurst as the main guest speaker.
As part of their vision for the future, the Club requested funding to finance essential sight screens for the upcoming 2023 cricket season and beyond. These specialised screens play a crucial role in ensuring safety and visibility during matches, benefiting all senior sides, junior teams, ladies’ cricket and school cricket (including teams from Newmarket Academy).
Founded amidst the challenges of the pandemic in late 2020, Newmarket Cricket Club has persevered and flourished. Today, it stands tall as an integral part of the community, providing cricket opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, genders, races, and religions. With its commitment to inclusivity, ambition, and success, the Club has emerged as a shining example in the local cricket scene.
The Newmarket Charitable Foundation is delighted to contribute to this noteworthy project, supporting the individuals who offer these experiences and who are developing the valuable skills offered by the Club.
