The Community Committee has secured funding to purchase and install an “Outdoor Gym” on George Lambton Playing Field, to be located between the McDonalds restaurant and the changing rooms/car park.
This installation been funded by a £20,000 grant from AVIVA, and has been joined by a pledge from Swing Fitness Ltd for 2 of their “Swing Boxes” to be included in the project. Access to the Swing Box is provided by the Swing App, providing users with on-demand access to high-quality strength training equipment and an expanding virtual class platform
The tender for the installation is in progress now, to be evaluated early July with an install date of (hopefully!) Autumn 2022.
The equipment will be free to access and is intended to be able to be used by the whole community
