Newmarket Cinema to open its doors in early April

Newmarket Charitable Foundation and partners Abbeygate Cinema are delighted to announce that the eagerly anticipated Newmarket Cinema will open its doors on Friday, April 5th. 

Marking the opening weeks, Newmarket Cinema will present a diverse line up of films, from the highly anticipated ‘Dune’ and ‘Wicked Little Letters’ to the family-friendly ‘Wonka’ and ‘Migration’.

The cinema is satellite enabled for live screenings from some of the great international theatres and opera houses. Members and cinema goers can immerse themselves in acclaimed productions from the National Theatre, while April 20th marks the inaugural live screening of the Met Opera in New York, beginning with “Rondine” and followed by “Madame Butterfly” in early May. The live transmission of “Carmen” from the Royal Opera House on May 1st is not to be missed.

As we move into May, the variety continues with a wide range of film releases and theatre productions. From Ralph Fiennes’ mesmerising portrayal of “Macbeth” to the thought-provoking production of the National Theatre’s “Nye,” there’s something for every theatre and cinema enthusiast. Cinema-goers will have the opportunity to catch up on recent gems such as “Bob Marley: One Love” and the riveting Oscar-winning “Oppenheimer.” in a cinema schedule that is packed with new releases and repertory films.

Families are in for a treat during the Easter holidays, as the classic Ghostbusters will be included in the lineup alongside a diverse selection of films tailored for all ages.

The Abbeygate team are offering a range of new and much-loved films aimed at capturing the imagination of any cinema lover. With a packed schedule over the next few months, Kings Cinema is poised to become a much-loved destination for all residents.”

Pat Church from Abbeygate added “The membership launch has been really encouraging. The first 100 members will be invited to a special membership screening in the early weeks after the cinema has opened and we’re organising that event now”.
